Six of the new cases were imported and the remaining 15 were domestic transmissions. Thirteen of the local transmissions involved Malaysians.

There were no new Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, with the toll remaining at 123.

In a statement, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said three patients are being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU), with one requiring respiratory assistance.
