PETALING JAYA:
Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) today shut down a noodle processing plant found to be dirty and unhygienic, days after it ordered another food outlet to be closed for the same reason.

An inspection by DBKL’s health and environment department found the site where noodles were being processed along Jalan Segambut Selatan to be infested with rats and their droppings.

Officers also found the toilets to be filthy. The walls and floors were dirty and had black stains.

The factory was operating under unhygienic conditions.

“Three of their foreign workers were not vaccinated against typhoid and were not wearing aprons or hairnets when handling food. The utensils and machines used were dirty and old,” it said in a Facebook post.

The location of the factory and its structure, DBKL added, were unsuitable for food processing.

DBKL said it closed the premises under Section 11 of the Food Act 1983.

On Friday, DBKL had shut down a yong tau foo factory in Pudu as the premises were dirty and unhygienic.
