Those with expired social visit passes during MCO allowed renewal

Foreigners whose passes expire during RMCO allowed to leave within 14 days of order being called off.

The government says foreigners whose social visit passes expired during the MCO may get them renewed at the Immigration Department.
PETALING JAYA:
Foreigners whose social visit passes expire during the current recovery movement control order (RMCO) period will be allowed to take flights home within 14 days of the RMCO being called off, Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said.

Those whose social visit passes expired during the earlier MCO period may go to the nearest Immigration Department to renew their passes, Ismail said in a statement today.

He said the decision was made at a special Cabinet meeting.

Ismail also said 15 reflexology and massage parlours were found to have breached social distancing SOPs and given compound tickets by the task force.

He said the task force carried out 63,335 checks yesterday. A total of 72 roadblocks were set up and eight undocumented workers were detained.

He said 142 Malaysians returned from Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, India, China and Holland yesterday and are under 14 days’ mandatory home quarantine.

The health ministry carried out swabs on 4,536 individuals entering Malaysia through Kuala Lumpur International Airport from June 10 to 22, he said, and 19 individuals were found to be infected by the virus.

Ismail said 15 construction sites were told to shut down for not following guidelines after checks by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) on 105 sites yesterday.

He also clarified that the housing and local government ministry and local councils will be in charge of monitoring and enforcing SOPs when swimming pools are allowed to reopen at hotels, condominiums and gated communities on July 1.

However, the operators of the pools will still need to register with the international trade and industry ministry website at notification.miti, gov.my.

Yesterday, he said the swimming pool operators were required to station lifeguards and supervisors to ensure the safety of users and to manage the use of the pools.

The number of people allowed in a pool at any one time should be based on its size and capacity.

Children are allowed to use the children’s pool but they are not encouraged to do so, he added.
