In a statement, she said Good Friday and Easter Sunday are usually spent at church and with family and friends.

But this year, she said, the Christian celebrations would need to be spent at home.

“The inability to hug and spend in-person time with loved ones is disheartening,” she said.

“However, we should not look at loss or limitation with any kind of resentment. Instead, look at it as an opportunity to strengthen family bonds even from a distance.”

Adding that celebrations could still be held online and through virtual communication, she said this would be a “healthier and safer way” given the current pandemic crisis.

“We have all worked really hard, especially our heroes, the frontliners, to break the chain of Covid-19.

“That progress could be completely undone if we disobey the MCO.”

The MCO was implemented on March 18. It was originally meant to end on March 31, but was subsequently extended to April 14.
