
On Jan 27, Malaysia temporarily suspended visa to Chinese citizens from Wuhan, the capital of Hubei, as well as surrounding areas.
The home ministry said 55 Chinese nationals from Wuhan city and Hubei province were prevented from entering Malaysia on Jan 28.
A majority of them were stopped at the Sultan Abu Bakar Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex at the Singapore-Malaysia border.
An average of 3,500 Chinese tourists entered the country everyday through the checkpoint last year.
Malaysia has so far reported eight coronavirus cases.
China has reported over 400 deaths so far since the outbreak of the virus last month.
