High Court judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah fixed Jan 9 for hearing after deputy public prosecutor Mohamad Mustafa P Kunyalam and Lokman’s lawyer Farhan Shafee said both the prosecution and the defence had agreed to file the relevant replies within two weeks.

He also said the court would only hear the prosecution’s application to amend the papers for Lokman’s committal proceedings.

“We will deal with that after Jan 9,” he added.

Lokman is seeking to challenge the order for the public prosecutor to commit him to prison for allegedly threatening Najib Razak’s former special officer, Amhari Efendi Nazaruddin, who testified against his former boss in the 1MDB trial.

Ad hoc prosecutor Gopal Sri Ram said Lokman had attempted to interfere with the administration of justice.

The lawyer, who was appointed to lead 1MDB-related prosecution, said Lokman had not only lodged a police report against Amhari, but had given a video interview in which he allegedly attacked the integrity of the attorney-general.

In his police report, Lokman had urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate and prosecute Amhari for receiving money from fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho.
