2 cops among 345 nabbed after testing positive for drugs

This comes two days after the inspector-general of police said he is determined to make the force drug-free.

Two police officers were among 345 people arrested for testing positive for drugs during a nationwide raid on clubs yesterday.

The police officers were detained at a club in Kuala Lumpur and tested positive for methamphetamine.

Thirty-one of those arrested were foreigners.

Police also seized about RM66,800 worth of drugs, Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd said in a statement.

He also said that 78 others were nabbed for possessing and distributing various drugs.

The arrest of the two policemen came just two days after Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador said he was determined to make the police force drug-free.

Some 260 officers and personnel have been arrested for drug abuse within a span of two months.
