“1MDB and SRC International are MoF Inc companies, and we look at the accounts every year,” he said, referring to the Minister of Finance Incorporated.
However, he gave no further details on the discrepancies in question.
Ambrin’s voice was identified by former chief secretary to the government Ali Hamsa, who is testifying in the trial. Ali also said that he had chaired the meeting in his office.
He added that former Bank Rakyat chairman Shukry Mohd Salleh, Najib’s principal private secretary at the time, had also attended the meeting, along with other government officials.
Najib is accused of using his position to obtain immunity from legal action in relation to allegations that he tampered with the 1MDB audit report between Feb 22 and 26, 2016.
Arul was charged with abetting Najib in tampering with the report before it was tabled to the Public Accounts Committee.
