Kuala Krau MP Ismail Mohamed Said was heard shouting “bodoh” and “bangang” (stupid) at Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman.
“Bodoh! Bangang! What kind of veteran BN member is this?” Ismail said, according to witnesses.
Tajuddin then retorted: “You are the one who’s stupid. If you dare, come on (and fight me).”
The shouting match caught the attention of dozens of reporters who rushed to record the incident.
Several MPs also attempted to intervene between the two.

Later, Ismail explained that there was a misunderstanding between them over a photograph of his friends visiting his son.
“He made it an issue by saying I was trying to make a new pact to support another leader. It’s not true,” said Ismail.
Tajuddin described what took place as a “misunderstanding between friends”, but scolded reporters for covering the incident.
“Why are you all interested? Would you talk about your family problems at any lobby?” he asked.
A check by FMT on social media found a picture of a group of Umno MPs including Sembrong MP Hishammuddin Hussein at the home of Ismail’s son.
