The report said Indian police had monitored Low’s movements but did not arrest him.
When contacted, Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador immediately dismissed the claim.

“Fake news,” he told FMT in a text message.
Asia Times said Low departed Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Nov 5 aboard a private jet with the tail number HS-VNT, which was bound for Dubai.
A day earlier, Low celebrated his 38th birthday.
Asia Times however said the company which charted the aircraft, Thailand-based, MJets has denied the claim as “untrue, unfounded and unsubstantiated”.
Low, better known as Jho Low, has been pursued by Malaysia and Singapore over his role in the 1MDB scandal.
Recent reports have placed him in China, Hong Kong, Macau and the United Arab Emirates, all of which have been dismissed by Malaysian police as “fake”.
Hamid recently said that Jho Low was enjoying protection from a state authority but gave no further details.
