
Although he said he is now seated next to the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) backbenchers in the state assembly – and not among the opposition members – PSB is neither a GPS component party or a GPS-friendly party.
The Bawang Assan assemblyman is seated between n PBB’s Pakan assemblyman William Mawan Ikom and Mulu assemblyman Gerawat Gala.
The seating arrangement for the other three PSB assemblymen – Ranum Mina (Opar), Johnical Rayong (Engkelili) and Tiong Thai King (Dudong) – remains the same.
“Although we are seated among GPS members, we do not want this to be construed that we are still part of GPS as we have already left the state government,” Wong told reporters.
He said he had raised the matter with the speaker.
However, Wong said it was not a major problem so long as he had a place to sit.
“Where we are seated doesn’t matter but I want to clarify that this does not mean we have any affiliation with GPS.”
According to him, PSB is an independent party fighting for the interest and rights of Sarawak and the well-being of all Sarawakians irrespective of race, religion and culture.
