Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Liew Vui Keong said the attendance schedule would have slots from 10am to 1pm, noon to 5.30pm and 5.30pm to 8pm.
He told reporters at the Parliament lobby the matter had been communicated at a meeting today with the chief whip of the PH component parties.
“Tomorrow, I will give out the rules and schedule,” he said.
“In addition, I will take attendance in the Dewan Rakyat and do an evaluation survey. The report will be submitted to party leaders and the prime minister.”
The halt in proceedings at the Dewan Rakyat last Thursday, when only 26 out of 222 MPs were present, came under fire by Opposition Leader Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He slammed the PH MPs for not taking the Budget speech seriously, saying it was a black day for Parliament.
Yesterday, deputy speaker Md Rashid Hasnon said the names of absent MPs will be published to remind them of their duty.
However, Liew disagreed with publishing the names of absent MPs, saying it should be left to the chief whip to decide whether to name them.
Meanwhile, Rural Development Minister Rina Mohd Harun said there is already a schedule for ministers to attend the Dewan Rakyat.
“A reminder has been given to everyone so that they understand that it is their responsibility to attend as elected MPs,” Rina said.
