Kindergarten teacher held after boy’s parents report stapler abuse

A 26-year-old teacher was detained for questioning and later released on police bail.

KUCHING: A kindergarten teacher is reported to have been detained by police following a report by parents of a 4-year-old boy who said they suspected that a stapler had been used on his ear.

City police chief Awang Din Awang Gani said the teacher, a 26-year-old woman, was being investigated for voluntarily causing hurt. She was released on police bail yesterday, according to NST Online.

The parents had lodged a report yesterday morning after trying to find out why he had a wound on his left ear when they fetched him from the kindergarten on Thursday.

They suspected that he had been abused as the wound appeared to have been caused by a stapler, the report said. They lodged a report after failing to obtain an explanation from the kindergarten head or the teacher.
