Remand of suspect in body parts case extended

The eight human body parts were found strewn in bushes in Krubong, Melaka.

The suspect was arrested in Singapore and handed over to Malaysian police.

The remand order for a Singaporean man suspected of being involved in the case of the discovery of eight human body parts in bushes at Kampung Ladang, Krubong here has been extended by seven days to Oct 25.

Magistrate’s Court assistant registrar Mohd Anuar Ostadi issued the order to extend the remand.

On Oct 10, police found at least eight human body parts, believed to belong to more than one person, strewn in the bushes.

Melaka police chief Mat Kasim Karim was reported to have said police did not discount the possibility the body parts belonged to two members of a family, as mentioned in a report which went viral on social media.

The suspect was detained by Singapore police and handed over to Malaysian police to help in the investigation.
