PETALING JAYA:
A group of Chinese nationals gathered outside the Bank of China in Ampang, claiming that they had been duped by a Malaysian investment company this afternoon.

The protesters also urged the Chinese embassy here to look into their plight.

According to Dang Wangi police chief Mohd Fahmi Visuvanathan, the Chinese nationals claimed that they had invested their money in the company, based in Penang.

“When they discovered that they were cheated by the company, they decided to fly down to demand that their money be returned,” he said in a statement.

It was reported in 2017 that the company was being probed by Bank Negara, the police and other relevant authorities.

Its founder was convicted for fraud in 2011.
