Sarawak MP Alice Lau appointed new NIOSH chairman

She takes over from Lee Lam Thye, who served as NIOSH chairman for 25 years.

PETALING JAYA:
National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has appointed DAP’s two-term Lanang MP Alice Lau Kiong Yieng as the new chairman of its board of directors.

In a statement, it said Lau is a pharmacist by profession, with a Master of Pharmacy from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.

Lau replaces Lee Lam Thye, who has served for 25 years since 1994 and whose contract ended on Sept 20.

Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has appointed Lau chairman to serve from Oct 1 till Sept 20, 2022.
