
KUALA LUMPUR: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has become the first retirement fund in the world to link members to online investment services through the introduction of an online investment platform called i-Invest.
EPF chairman Samsudin Osman, who launched the platform here today, attributed it to the new era of digitisation which he said had compelled the fund to give its members better value.
i-Invest allows members to access, analyse, monitor and make transactions online.
Nearly 2,500 members have transacted a total of RM32 million since EPF released the beta version of the platform on Aug 19.
Members can access the platform via their online accounts to invest a portion of their Account 1 into unit trust funds offered by EPF-approved fund management institutions.
The service is available to members 55 years old and below.
