According to PSM committee member S Arulchelvan, Khalid was nabbed at his house in Klang at 10.30pm by three police officers from Bukit Aman.
Police also seized his handphone.
Khalid was taken to the Dang Wangi police station, where he is being questioned for sedition.
It is understood that he will likely be remanded tomorrow.
Aruchelvan said that they were trying to engage a lawyer for Khalid.
“It is ridiculous that they arrested him this late at night. They could have just called him in to get his statement taken. This is unwarranted,” he said.
Khalid’s arrest comes a day after he denied tweeting about the queen after pictures of him were circulated on social media, accusing him of doing so.
“I have checked, not one tweet of mine was addressed to Tuanku Permaisuri,” he wrote.
In 2015, Khalid was slapped with 14 charges – 11 under the Communications and Multimedia Act and three under the Sedition Act – for his Facebook posts on the Johor royalty.
The case was subsequently dropped.
