Kajang district police chief ACP Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said police received a report from a 42-year-old man at 5.15pm yesterday claiming that he had received an envelope addressed to his house in Kajang.
He said the assemblyman’s aide did not know the identity of the individual and had never received any threats before.
“Police are investigating the case under Section 507 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation,” he said when contacted.
“Members of the public who have any information on the case should go to the nearest police station or contact the investigating officer for the case, Insp Md Fahrul Afifi, at telephone number 014-370 0870.”
Dzaffir also urged the public not to speculate on the case or make statements that could hamper the police investigation.
“I call on the community to refrain from making any statements that could affect harmony or cause disunity and enmity with negative intentions,” he added.
