It is among seven of 21 issues which the committee chaired by Dr Mahathir Mohamad today declared as resolved following consensus between Putrajaya, Sabah and Sarawak, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said today.
The other issues resolved include those related to duties on timber and forest resources in Sabah, the distribution of electricity and gas in Sarawak, and the setting up of a committee to oversee federal projects.
The Cabinet committee also agreed to delegate powers to Sabah and Sarawak to formulate laws on labour to suit each state, as well as on matters of public health through the setting up of a joint committee consisting of Putrajaya and the two East Malaysian partners.
“The MA63 task force has been instructed to prepare its final report before Aug 31, 2019 to be tabled at the next Cabinet committee meeting,” the PMO said.
