Search team combs hills, river for Irish teenager

Tracker dogs, Senoi Praaq and aerial unit join in the hunt for 15-year-old girl missing for three days.

The search for Irish teenager Nora Anne Quoirin, 15, which entered its third day today, focused on hilly terrain and a river.

Police, the Fire and Rescue Department, the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), Rela, the Negeri Sembilan Forestry Department and villagers joined forces to look for Nora Anne, who went missing while on vacation with her family.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Mohamad Mat Yusof said the police units mobilised included the tracker dog unit and the Senoi Praaq Unit, involving a total of 178 members.

He said the operation covered a 4ha area around the resort where the family was staying and was assisted by an aerial search.

“We have searched the hill many times,” he said, adding that the team would now focus on a river below in the hope that Nora Anne would try and look for water.

The teenager was reported missing on Aug 4 from her living room at the resort. Her family said she has a learning disability.
