Lokman recently said that forensic experts in Indonesia had confirmed the authenticity of the video recording, adding that there was no evidence of it being manipulated or edited.
The video showed two men engaging in homosexual activities. Former Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Aziz identified himself as one of the men, and also named Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali as the other man.
Azmin has strongly denied the claims.
Last week, Hamid said local experts held that the video could be authentic, but said the actors could not be positively identified.
This led to Lokman accusing Hamid of lying to the public.
“We are confident that the IGP is protecting a criminal. He cannot protect Haziq as he had admitted to it,” Lokman said today.
“I am asking for him to step down from his position as IGP,” he added.
