DUNGUN:
Dungun MP Wan Hassan Mohd Ramli, 62, was robbed of RM26,000 that he had just withdrawn from a bank on Jalan Pak Sabah here today.

Dungun district police chief Baharudin Abdullah said the money was intended to pay for cows to be sacrificed for Aidiladha next month.

After withdrawing the money at 2pm, he had entered his car parked nearby to return to his office.

Suddenly, a man wearing a full-visor helmet entered his car through the front passenger door and snatched a bag containing the money.

He escaped on a motorcycle with a waiting accomplice.

Police said the MP received slight injuries on his leg and hands during the struggle for the bag and received out-patient treatment at Dungun Hospital later.
