Man arrested over kids’ moving car stunt freed on police bail

Police say the investigation paper will be submitted to the Johor DPP for further action.

JOHOR BAHRU:
A man remanded for two days to assist in an investigation into the case of two boys clinging on to the roof of a moving car was released on police bail today.

Seri Alam police chief Ismail Dollah said the investigation paper will be sent to the Johor deputy public prosecutor for further instructions once it has been completed.

The investigation is being conducted under Section 336 of the Penal Code for endangering the lives or safety of others.

Last weekend, a video recording of the boys lying on the boot, rear window and roof of the car went viral on social media.

The man was arrested at his home at Taman Nusa Damai, near Pasir Gudang, on Sunday night.

One of the boys, aged between 10 and 12, is believed to be the son of the driver.
