KUALA LUMPUR:
Entrepreneur Development Minister Mohd Redzuan Yusof today brushed off talk that he is being groomed to be the new PPBM president.

Admitting there had been a lot of speculation as to whether he should contest the post or not, he said: “The rumours are not true. There is a declaration that there is no contest for the post of the president.

“No, that is entirely speculation,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby today when asked if it was true that PPBM chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad was grooming him to be president.

Asked what role he thought would be best for him, Redzuan: “We have the Supreme Council that is open to contests.

“I will contest that position. But not the position of president.

“I will be happy to continue as a Supreme Council member as I am focused on trying to accomplish what has been mandated by the prime minister,” he added.
