Deputy speaker Nga Kor Ming said that it would take place “latest by the next sitting”, which runs from October to December.
On June 24, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Liew Vui Keong said there was no need for a special slot for the prime minister.
He had said it was enough that there was a Minister’s Question Time (MQT) for 30 minutes on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
It drew strong reactions including from Bersih 2.0, who pointed out PMQT was among Pakatan Harapan’s promises.
Nga said today it was part of the parliamentary reforms which PH was committed to, similar to the motion on asset declaration which was passed on Monday.
Nga also said that Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad was capable of answering all questions asked by MPs.
Previously Nga had said that PMQT would be similar to that being practised in the United Kingdom, where it is held in a single 30-minute session every Wednesday.
