PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said Zaharudin will be asked to submit a report as “we cannot base the investigation on (what he wrote) on social media”.
“We will call him for an explanation, whether he actually made the statement and the purpose,” Takiyuddin told reporters after the breaking of fast in conjunction with the 73rd Umno anniversary at Putra World Trade Centre last night.
Writing on Facebook earlier, Zaharudin raised the issue of an audio recording involving Bachok MP Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz talking about Umno’s funding of PAS, and hit out at a group he called the “dedak cartel”.
In the recording, a man can be heard admitting that PAS leaders had received funds from Umno.
According to reports, Nik Abduh initially denied being the person speaking in the audio recording but came clean in February, claiming that Hadi had given him permission to make the denial.
Asked whether Zaharudin’s latest statement had been conveyed to Hadi, Takiyuddin said it had only reached the “administrative level” of the party.
