A total of 1.2km of the river has been cleaned up to yesterday.
Osman said the situation in Pasir Gudang following the chemical pollution was under control and not dangerous.
This was based on the air quality index, which was below the danger level at 6pm yesterday.
“The reading of 0.17 PPM (particles per million) is not at a dangerous level,” he told reporters at the Pasir Gudang indoor stadium last night.
Osman was commenting on the index reading notice by the Johor Fire and Rescue Department.
He also said the number of people who went for check-ups at the screening centre had gone down.
“The number of victims seeking treatment at the hospital has also decreased,” he said.
Earlier, he spent about an hour meeting people seeking early treatment at the medical base at the Pasir Gudang indoor stadium.
