The Kedah government and the Pokok Sena MP’s service centre are sponsoring the flight tickets of the two family members — Tarmizi’s sister Mariani, 49, and a cousin, Nordina Ahmad Fauzi, 30.
They will leave as soon as the arrangements are finalised, Bernama quoted Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar as saying after visiting the family members in Hutan Kampung near here today.
Tarmizi’s older sister, Zarina, 53, said the family was relieved after receiving news from her sister-in-law, Marina Hamzah, 46, that Tarmizi is in stable condition.
However, Marina’s son, Haziq, 17, has still not been found.
Zarina urged the public not to disseminate false information on the incident that could hurt the feelings of the victims and their families.
Mahfuz, who is the deputy human resources minister, said Wisma Putra would arrange accommodation for Mariani and Nordina.
Two other Malaysians — Rahimi Ahmad, 36, and Nazril Hisham Omar, 46 — were also hurt in the shootings.
Forty-nine worshippers attending Friday prayers were killed and nearly 50 injured in the incident.
An Australian, Brenton Tarrant, 28, has been charged in the Christchurch district court with murder.
