KOTA KINABALU: PPBM’s Sabah chapter will be launched on April 6 by its chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad, says former Sabah Umno chairman Hajiji Noor.
Bernama quoted the Sulaman assemblyman, who quit Umno late last year, as saying that the launching ceremony would be held at Padang Merdeka here.
He said top PPBM leaders would also attend the ceremony, including party president Muhyiddin Yassin and his deputy Mukhriz Mahathir.
Hajiji said an announcement will also be made on his role in Sabah PPBM.
PPBM on Feb 15 announced that it was spreading its wings to Sabah, some two months after several Umno MPs, assemblymen and senators declared themselves as independents.
PPBM’s decision to set foot in Sabah initially drew protests from Warisan chief and Chief Minister Shafie Apdal, but he later accepted it saying it was the party’s democratic right to do so.
