PETALING JAYA:
Former foreign minister Anifah Aman held a meeting with Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad last week to discuss on the 1963 Malaysia Agreement.

The Kimanis MP said he would support efforts by Putrajaya to restore Sabah’s rights under the agreement.

“I spoke to him on the need to carry out what has been promised and that includes restoring Sabah its rights, which includes petroleum royalty,” Anifah said.

Anifah also said that he had no problems with PPBM spreading its wings to Sabah, saying it was the party’s democractic right.

Last year, Putrajaya announced the setting up of three special committees to look into MA63, to be chaired by Mahathir Mohamad, with the Sabah and Sarawak chief ministers and Attorney-General Tommy Thomas among its members.
