SEMENYIH: PPBM today said it accepted its defeat in the Semenyih by-election today with an open heart, and promised to address its weaknesses.
PPBM deputy president Mukhriz Mahathir said the Pakatan Harapan coalition tried its best “but the people know their choice better”.
“We accept this decision with an open heart and will improve on our weaknesses,” he told reporters at PH’s operations centre tonight.
Barisan Nasional (BN) today wrested the Semenyih state seat after its candidate, Zakaria Hanafi, defeated PH’s Aiman Zainali and two others with a majority of 1,914 votes.
Mukhriz said the outcome of the election was a message from voters to PH, adding that the coalition would conduct a study into its defeat.
