Education, Science and Technological Research Minister Michael Manyin said the industrialised building system (IBS) will be used to rebuild these dilapidated schools quickly and work is expected to start soon.
He thanked Education Minister Maszlee Malik for the RM100 million allocation which the ministry had promised earlier.
Manyin said this after Maszlee had paid a courtesy visit on Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg at his office here today.
Meanwhile, Maszlee said the education ministry will continue its supply of diesel to 21 Chinese and mission schools in remote areas in the state with no power supply.
“The reports about the supply being cut off are not true.
“There was a misunderstanding but this issue has been cleared.”
On another matter, Maszlee said more international students will be encouraged to pursue their studies in Sarawak.
“The state government has also agreed to facilitate arrangements allowing these students to enter the state,” he added.
