Speaking to reporters after delivering a sermon at Masjid Rusila, Hadi said, “It is from our own pockets. Our own people work hard to contribute funds (to the party).”
“We can reveal our sources (of funds), but the other parties should also reveal theirs. Some parties are afraid to do so, but we are not,” Bernama reported him as saying.
On Feb 5, MACC launched an investigation into the allegation that RM90 million, suspected to be linked to 1MDB funds, was deposited in the accounts of PAS leaders by Umno to secure their support in the general election.
Calling for a fair investigation, Hadi said it was up to MACC to investigate PAS or any individual in the case, adding that the party was ready to assist in the probe to clear the party’s name of corruption charges.
Earlier in the day, Umno secretary-general Annuar Musa claimed that the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government was under “sudden pressure” to bring more corruption charges against Umno and PAS leaders in the aftermath of the coalition’s defeat in the Cameron Highlands by-election last month.
Annuar said he welcomed the investigation and was confident the authorities would not find anything.
