Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng also announced that a total of RM202,716,775.10 was collected up to Jan 14 for the fund, which was launched by the PH government soon after taking over power in May last year.
The fund is governed by the Financial Procedure Act 1957, and allowed the public to help the government settle some RM1 trillion in debts.
“The federal government conveys its highest gratitude and appreciation to all Malaysians who contributed to THM,” Lim said in a statement.
“Their contribution reflects their loyalty and love for their beloved country.”
Putrajaya had initially announced the fund’s closure on Dec 31, but later extended it to Jan 14.
