Maria Chin’s son attacked while jogging

The incident took place at a park in Taman Bukit Mayang Emas.

PETALING JAYA: The eldest son of former Bersih 2.0 chief Maria Chin is recovering from injuries after falling victim to a robbery attempt near a park today.

It is learnt that Azumin Yunus was stabbed by a man in Taman Bukit Mayang Emas.

Petaling Jaya police deputy chief Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood confirmed the incident and said a police report was lodged at 8.35pm today.

When contacted, Maria said the incident occured when Azumin was jogging.

“The guy came from behind and slashed his hand and stabbed him,” the Petaling Jaya MP told FMT, adding that nothing was stolen from her son.

She said the robber then made a dash upon seeing a passing motorcyclist.

“If not for the motorcyclist, I don’t know what would have happened to my son.”

Azumin is currently warded at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM), and will undergo surgery tonight.
