This follows Putrajaya’s decision to ban Israeli athletes from competing in this country.
Israel has called on the IPC to change the venue if it could not persuade Malaysia to lift the ban before the event to be held from July 29 to Aug 4.
According to The Star, the IPC will announce its decision in London today.
It said in a report today the world para swimming championships in Kuching were in doubt following Putrajaya’s decision to bar Israeli athletes from entering the country.
“Malaysia will not host any event that has representation from or participation of Israel,” it quoted Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah as saying.
The IPC governing board will also discuss the suspension of Russia’s paralympic committee.
Russia has been barred from the paralympic competition since August 2016 over allegations of state-sponsored doping that also led to the suspension of the country’s athletics federation and its anti-doping agency.
The report quoted an IPC spokesman as saying an update on Russia’s status would be made on Feb 8.
