Warisan lodges report against activist for criticising Shafie

KOTA KINABALU:
Sepanggar Warisan Youth lodged a police report against activist Zainnal Ajamain for what it perceived as a misleading statement against Chief Minister Shafie Apdal.

Sepanggar Warisan Youth chief Norazmi Alimat said Zainnal’s statement was also inaccurate and had defamed Shafie.

He added that the activist’s action also offended Warisan as a party and affected the reputation of the state government as a whole.

Yesterday, Zainnal had uploaded a Facebook status, which was then published by FMT, where he compared Shafie with former chief minister Musa Aman.

He said when Musa first took over the post, he had prepared a plan on what he wanted to do for Sabah.

Musa launched the Sabah Halatuju in July 2003, less than four months after he was appointed Sabah chief minister.

However, Zainnal said compared to Musa, even after eight months in power, Shafie seems to be still groping in the dark and does not seem to have a concrete plan for his tenure.

Norazmi said Zainnal should not make the like-for-like comparison.

“We should be patient and give enough space and time for the chief minister to restructure and reorganise the state’s administration,” he said.

Norazmi also described Zainnal’s statement that Shafie is still groping in the dark, despite having the support from everyone around him, as outrageous.

“I hope the activist will retract his statement and give the chief minister enough time to bring Sabah forward,” he said.
