
Its secretary Tan Hong Pin said DAP viewed seriously the manner in which the statement was made.
“As a party member and councillor, he should have prioritised good manners and politeness and maintain discipline in his language,” he said in a statement here today.
He said although DAP was firm on the supremacy of the constitution as well as freedom of speech, it should not be an excuse to make irresponsible statements.
Tan said DAP always monitored its members’ discipline.
On Friday, Kamarul uploaded a statement disparaging the Tunku Mahkota of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim on his Facebook, but later erased it.
He then apologised to the Johor royal family.
