PETALING JAYA:
Noor Farida Mohd Ariffin, one of the pioneers members of vocal Muslim moderate group G25, has been appointed to head the government’s workforce training scheme Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF).

Noor Farida’s appointment as chairman of HRDF’s board of directors is effective Jan 1.

The former ambassador also headed the law reform committee at the National Council of Women Organisations, and serves on the boards of Ecoworld Berhad and Aerospace Technology Systems Corp Sdn Bhd.

HRDF said Noor Farida was a proven leader and her appointment would be invaluable to the fund.

“HRDF will continue its internal investigations, started in July 2018, to bring all errant stakeholders, including training providers, trainees, and staff who have connived with them, to book,” it said in a statement.

The fund further said it would ensure liable employers are registered under HRDF by the end of 2019, adding that action would be taken against errant companies.

It said the fund was aiming to “train 1.2 million Malaysian employees” this year and develop “job-ready youths and graduates”.
