Liew said his meeting with the human resources ministry did not lead to the decision mentioned by Kulasegaran’s officer.

“(The statement) is not all correct.
“There was a meeting with my office but what was reported was not the decision made. This means there was a mistake. Never mind, he has withdrawn it,” he told FMT in response to an earlier Facebook post on the matter which has since been removed.
Earlier, Kulasegaran’s officer stated that 75 Indian youths would be absorbed into the military following discussions with the defence ministry. According to the post, 60 of them did not have SPM qualification.
The post stated that during Barisan Nasional’s administration, the defence ministry had promised to absorb them but this was not fulfilled. According to Kulasegaran’s officer, the youths were trained by the army’s reserve force prior to the 14th general election.
The post also stated that several Indian groups had tried to contact the military regarding the matter but failed to get a response.
The statement issued by Kulasegaran’s officer, however, was removed 16 hours after it was posted.
Meanwhile, a human resources ministry officer said an official statement on the meeting would be issued soon.
“There was a meeting, which was why there was a picture. However, I think the final decision is not out that’s why there is no official statement yet,” the officer said.
