No leak in SPM exam papers, education ministry assures

In the wake of rumours that some examination papers had been leaked, the Examination Syndicate says it carried out a check and found this to be untrue.

KUALA LUMPUR: The education ministry today dismissed news about a leak of the Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics and Chinese Language test papers in the ongoing Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.

The Examination Syndicate said in a statement that it had conducted investigations into the complaints received on the matter and gave the assurance that there was no need for candidates to resit the papers.

“Parents have no need to worry as the examination is being conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the Examination Syndicate under the supervision of the state education departments and district education offices,” it said.

The Examination Syndicate advised people not to spread fake news, saying this could adversely affect the focus and emotions of the examination candidates and their parents.

The SPM 2018 examination began on Nov 13 and is scheduled to run until Dec 13.
