PPBM secretary-general Marzuki Yahya said the party was not going to accept Ali as a member despite his statement that he has changed.
“So let’s make it clear that we will reject his application,” Marzuki was quoted as saying by Malaysiakini.
Yesterday, Ali, better known as Ali Tinju, said he was joining PPBM on his own accord, and said he too was unhappy with the Najib Razak administration he once supported.
“In Umno, I was not in a leadership position. So, we were just taking orders from the leaders,” he said.
Ali’s “butt protest” made headlines when he brought about a dozen supporters, with their backs facing Ambiga’s house in Bukit Damansara.
The protest was to warn Ambiga against going ahead with the third Bersih rally in 2012, following a huge rally in 2011 to demand electoral reforms.
