KOTA KINABALU:
Sabah Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Junz Wong, in welcoming Budget 2019, said Sabah deserves more than what has been allocated to it.

Speaking to FMT today, Wong said he hopes Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng will at least give details of the RM5 billion allocated to Sabah and explain what the money is for.

“However, to be honest, I think even though the funds are more than that in the previous budget, RM5 billion is still not good enough. Sabah is lagging so far behind,” he said.

For this reason, the Warisan vice-president said, the budget is only slightly better than that of the previous Barisan Nasional (BN) federal government which gave about RM4.1 billion to Sabah last year.

“The budget is not even close to what Sabah expects and deserves,” he said.
