
A police source said the men were initially arrested for disturbing the election process.
“Police were called in and then we found out that they had fake voting documents too,” he said, but refused to name the divisions involved.
He said those arrested were from opposing camps in PKR.
PKR’s Elizabeth Wong said she had called for police intervention after a chaos at the Petaling Jaya Utara voting centre.
“They were creating ruckus. They are definitely not from our team,” she said.
In Gombak, a party official told FMT that “outsiders” were creating disturbance at the voting centre.
“They are not from PKR members.”
Yesterday, Melaka PKR claimed to have detected at least one case of money politics during polling there.
State PKR chairman Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin said the case occurred at the Tangga Batu branch, adding that candidates handed out RM50 notes to members in exchange for their votes.
