Utusan claims it was stopped from getting 11MP report

Its sister publication Kosmo was also initially prevented from collecting a copy of the report, which is to be launched in Parliament on Thursday.

PETALING JAYA: Utusan Malaysia today complained that it was prevented from taking a copy of the mid-term review report of the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP) 2016-2020.

The report is to be launched by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad in Parliament on Thursday.

The report was distributed to news media today to help them prepare for the launch tomorrow.

The report is embargoed until 4pm tomorrow.

According to Utusan, its sister publication, Kosmo, was initially also prevented from obtaining a copy of the report.

However, the officer on duty allowed Kosmo to collect a copy and asked the reporter to share it with Utusan.

Utusan said it understood that the directive to prevent it from obtaining the report came “from the top” of a particular ministry.
