KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Wanita chief Noraini Ahmad today suggested the party form new alliances to strengthen the Barisan Nasional (BN) with the country’s diverse society in mind.
She said the new alliances need not only be with political organisations.
“There are voluntary bodies and NGOs that want to be with us. So, I hope the party president (Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) will look into this.
“Now, we are talking about matured politics. It is not about this party representing only this group of people.
“We also have NGOs, such as Kimma (Malaysian Congress of Indian Muslims), associated with us.
“This means we can have different people and groups with us,” she told reporters after the 2018 Wanita Umno assembly here today.
