KUALA LUMPUR:
The implementation of the Productivity Linked Wage System (PLWS) is seen as the best initiative to bring home highly-skilled Malaysians from abroad to serve the country.

Human Resources Minister M Kulasegaran said the effectiveness of the system was evident as 84,249 companies had implemented PLWS, involving 4.1 million workers, up till August this year.

“The achievement is very encouraging,” he said after officiating the closing ceremony of the PLWS 2018 Awards Day-Human Resources Minister’s Cup here today.

Kulasegaran said the government was serious in improving the nation’s productivity and it was important to bring back highly-skilled Malaysians.

He said there were more than 700,000 skilled Malaysians working abroad in various fields.

“It is time for them to return to contribute to the country based on a win-win situation between workers, employers and the government,” he said.
