PETALING JAYA:
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has urged controversial businessman Low Taek Jho, or Jho Low, to return to Malaysia to facilitate investigations into 1 Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Azam Baki said aside from Jho Low, they also wanted SRC International Sdn Bhd (SRC) managing director Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil Nik Othman to come back to Malaysia to help investigations.

“Arrest warrants for the duo have been issued. An Interpol Red Alert notice has also been issued to facilitate investigations by MACC and police,” he said in an interview with Bernama Radio today.

In the warrant of arrests for the duo, they are classified as “highly sought after individuals”.

Azam said MACC was aware of several locations Low may be but could not reveal them.

“For now, I will keep this secret but it would be best if they surrendered themselves.”

He also said MACC was cooperating with three countries on the 1MDB investigations, including Singapore, Switzerland and the United States.

“The US has two agencies, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Department of Justice. We met them from Sept 18 to 20.

“We met to streamline our investigations and this is necessary because they involve different countries.”
