The former prime minister, who is at the centre of the 1Malaysia Development Berhad investigations, questioned the Pakatan Harapan government’s claim that it was better in administering the country.
“What is this government today that claims to be the better administration when it does not even respect the house of the wife of Tun Abdul Razak, a man who performed good deeds for Felda folks?
“And they left empty-handed too,” he was quoted by the English daily as saying, referring to his father who was also the country’s second prime minister.
Najib was speaking to reporters at a get-together with Felda Chini settlers here.
Last night, police raided Tun Rahah Mohamed Noah’s house on Jalan Eaton in Kuala Lumpur. It is believed that the raid was related to the ongoing investigations into the former leader’s role in 1MDB.
The raid came at the same time as 25 more charges were being slapped on Najib yesterday, bringing a total of 32 charges so far since investigations began in the aftermath of Barisan Nasional’s downfall in the May 9 polls.
The raid on Tun Rahah’s residence drew criticism from Najib’s son Norashman and daughter Nooryana.
